Kitchens do sweden for a year: August 2012

Wow, summer is over already?
well, It almost feels like it, school has started and daycare for Calvin has come to an excellent start.
Here in Sweden they start by slowly introducing the child to daycare, Pfffpppffttt!
Calvin took one look at me and said - Bye bye mamma! and off he went to climb and play with his new friends. He even looked at the teacher, stuck out his hand and said - COME!
she was so surprised, she just smiled and said... -Oh, this is going to be easy! :))
so in to the wooden cubby house she went with Calvin! and like that, Calvin was introduced!

School was also a VERY pleasant introduction to the older two.

They were a little nervous to start a new school, with new friends, new everything!

They were to meet at the school yard on the first day, where all their teachers were dressed in sports gear,

and in came the principal with two lit Olympic torches, to start up the new school year. AND next friday they are having an Olympic sports day! I guess we will have to bring out the Canadian shirts! ;)

in the midst of the principal speaking and welcoming all, Calvin screams out loud "HI JACK!!!"

In Jack and Molly's school they are doing things a little different, they are mixing the classes. so Kindergarten grade 1 and grade 2 work together, so there is actually 4 classes mixed with all the ages! but within the classes they do work separately on certain things. I Love that philosophy as I think all ages will grow from learning and helping each other. They are on to floors, they second floor where jack and molly attends is called "the birds", where mollys Class is called the "king eagle" class, and Jacks class is called the "falcons"
then on the bottom floor of the school is the "fishes".
On the first day they started off with having ice cream, guess if the kids where happy!?

Swedish school is not that bad, starting off with Ice cream, and as the teacher said, we should start with a celebration! :)

As I came to pick them up from their first day at school, jack was skipping towards me screaming, "we are going to have swimming lessons on Wednesdays!!!"

Molly looked a little tired from all the excitement, and when I asked how Swedish school was,

she replied "I don't really like Fish, and we didn't get to play on the playground today" ha ha,

High expectations on the first day!!

Need to include that in Sweden, you get a cooked meal in school every day!

HOORAY, for no packed lunches!

well, to finish off I can sum it all up with that Swedish school start came off to a BIG success!

(even if they served fish-fingers for lunch) LOL!

Brads cousin Rob, his awesome wife Erin and their beautiful girl Claire

has been in Bastad for a sailing event. We took our crew up for a visit, had some great pizza at Pepes Bodega, and a stroll down for an ice cream dessert, then played in the park, It was soo nice to see you guys! :)
